Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)

CMM inspection is commonplace amongst precision machine shops, but few shops have the expertise and technology to offer third party inspection like Velocity Machine. CMMs inspect part dimensions for correlation to design specifications. Parts will be placed on custom or modular fixtures, then flipped or rotated to inspect dimensions that may be difficult to reach.

One of the biggest benefits of using a CMM in our quality department is the ability to write part specific programs, which can be run either manually or automatically. Since CMMs are designed for contact measurements with a variety of probes, they can measure three dimensional objects with relative ease.

Velocity Machine has two programmable CMMs in our temperature controlled Quality Lab. Accuracies are roughly 0.00025”.
